Our laboratory managers and engineers are responsible for the direct management
of our in-house quality assurance/quality control program under the overall
direction of our
in-house QA/QC Manager. This program applies to our entire company and includes
supervision of and interaction with field technicians on a project basis,
review of samples and logs from test boring programs, checking of
field and laboratory test
results, proofing of engineering drawings and calculations, and peer
review of engineering letters, reports and design documents prior
to submittal to the client. Our
in-house QA/QC Managers are responsible for the implementation, documentation
and auditing of all applicable quality standards as they relate to the
business practices of the firm.
A copy of our in-house QA/QC Plan Document is available for review upon request.
Participation in annual soils and concrete lab re-certification
by AASHTO, as well as the AASHTO Soil Proficiency Sample Program provides
a measure of external quality
control
which compares
results
of conventional geotechnical testing of the same soil between hundreds
of independent laboratories on a quarterly basis. We are also considering
application for a voluntary independent certification program for geosynthetics
laboratories (GAI-LAP) sponsored by the Geosynthetic Institute
at Drexel University with annual recertifications. Membership in ASFE
further invokes independent peer and report reviews from outside organizations
along with other programs structured to directly enhance our internal
total quality management (TQM). Our most recent comprehensive 3-day
ASFE
peer review occurred in 2002, and we will undergo our 3rd ASFE peer review
in 2008.
Along with our current commercial general liability, business property,
owned/hired vehicle, workers compensation, employers liability, inland marine and excess
liability umbrella insurance policies, we maintain professional liability insurance
coverage. Certificates of insurance coverage can be provided upon request.
Proposals and Fees
Fees for our field, laboratory and engineering services
are generally project specific. We would be pleased to provide a proposal
to your office for such
services, either individually or collectively, on a particular project at
any time. If your company maintains a standing list of geotechnical engineering
firms, test boring
contractors or testing laboratories who are routinely invited to submit proposals
for such services on your projects we would request your consideration
in adding
our firm to such a list(s).
