Our
construction materials testing and field observation qualifications cover
soils, rock, concrete, asphalt, geosynthetics, deep
foundations, grouting and field load tests. We utilize nuclear moisture-density
gauges for field compaction control of soils and asphalt, and
currently maintain 7 calibrated Troxler gauges for this purpose as well as
5 conventional sand cone density kits with Speedy moisture testers for use
when necessary. As part of our
field verification of foundation bearing capacity and evaluation of sinkholes,
we use an in-house designed soil monitoring drop hammer apparatus capable
of
penetrating 5 feet with an empirical correlation to the Standard Penetration
Test.
Our construction materials testing capabilities with
respect to soils, concrete and asphalt have been previously approved and certified
by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. We also have extensive past experience
with the construction of rock fills in accordance with PADOT procedures
on projects such as shopping malls, standpipes, landfills, roads and buildings.
Our third party geosynthetics field technicians have collectively
inspected more than 2,500 acres of single and double lined installations
for landfills, lagoons, incinerators and closure caps. Our technicians
have previously been NICET certified for the inspection of geosynthetics
with most having
achieved Level II or Level III status. Starting in 2006, this certification
program is now governed by the Geosynthetic Institute (GCI-ICP)
at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. Our technicians have been re-certified
by the GCI under this new program. For more information on our
third party CQA experience with respect to solid
waste
