PhotoOur test boring capabilities include conventional disturbed and undisturbed soil sampling, auger sampling, NX diamond rock coring, monitoring well installations and in-place large diameter diamond coring of concrete and asphalt using truck/trailer mounted, skid mounted and portable drilling equipment. We typically operate two (2) drill rigs drawn from our in-house fleet of five (5) rigs including a truck mounted Acker AD-II hollow stem auger rig, a truck mounted Acker SoilMax hollow stem auger rig, two (2) trailer mounted S&H 40C skid rigs and a truck mounted Mobile B31 auger rig. Our drilling capabilities have been reviewed and approved by the Pennsylvania and West Virginia Departments of Transportation. In this regard, we maintain Class A, B and Offshore status as a prequalified drilling contractor on PennDOT's Approved Drillers Listing of Prequalified Contractors, and are likewise a prequalified drilling contractor for West Virginia DOT.

PhotoOur test boring experience has included contractural highway and bridge work plus many public/private projects of various size totaling over 185,000 L.F. of soil sampling and rock coring to date. With our present test boring equipment we are capable of completing projects involving virtually any type of accessibility, including water borings on creeks or rivers. Our portable equipment includes a tripod, motorized cathead, electric drills and hand hammers that enable us to drill within interior building situations and difficult access sites such as wetlands and steep slopes.

Test Boring LogOur senior drilling personnel have a combined 24 years of experience on a large variety of projects, and are supervised by Registered Professional Engineers and Registered Professional Geologists. Soil samples, rock cores and test boring logs are reviewed by an engineer or geologist prior to transmittal to our clients, and our logs are computer generated with graphic display using gINT software. Test Boring Results drawings, when requested, are likewise created via computer using our in-house AutoCAD capabilities. Test boring stakeouts are completed using conventional field survey techniques coupled with GPS.
